    Hey!

Thanks for the tip on total audio. I called
    and got the scoop...

What is THEIR story? I asked if they sell
A7 cabinets, and the woman said yes.

Are they a distributor for the reintroductions?

There was a lot of intresting talk about that outfit in K.C. on this forum before and you might want to be carefull dealing with them. Also they do not represent the new altec co. I have talked to someone in the K.C. area about there cabinets and was told they are knockoffs just like the decals they sell

    Hello!

    Well, I sent a check to purchase 4 old-style
decals. I am refinishing 4 828 cabinets and
needed these for the final touch.

Since I am new to this message board, where
can I get more info about Total Audio?

    goto my web site www.pizzazzimages.com
and under 'mikes photos' there is a link
    to A7 restoration.

I will be placing photos of the stuff I am
doing for the restoration of 4 828 cabinets.

Send me email if you like!

Thus reported variation in plywood thickness is really interesting. Maybe, I should re-read Jim's article..
I've got a pair of late 825 cabs that flew in the Davidson College drama deptartment that really are 3/4 inch thick (actually 20 cm.) plywood ..from the factory ..and a pair of the final 828's (from a church) that are made of only a 16 cm. thick composite. Both pairs hold the exact same components, but somehow, I've always preferred the older ones although I cannot honestly really hear a differcnce.
